MPLS PARK STORM JERSEY RETURN

All Mpls Park Storm Teams must return their jerseys on April 10 from 10 -12 noon at SLP Rec Center. Managers are responsible for collecting all the jerseys for their team to turn in on this date. If you can't make the date, assign someone from your team to return the jerseys. Parents need to return both jerseys and the garment bag on hangers. They do not return the socks. This is the only day that jerseys will be collected.

BASELINE BRAIN FUNCTION TESTING

Given the risk of head injury (concussion) in hockey, I wanted to let you know of an inexpensive baseline test available to your team. Gillette Children's Hospital offers the ImPACT testing on-line. If your team is interested, you can register as a team at the reduced cost of $3/person. Should a child be injured in a game this baseline test can be utilized by his/her doctor to evaluate the extent of injury.

If your team is interested, call Doug at 651-229-1770 to arrange for the group rate.

You can take the test individually for $4/person.

The website, for further information is www.gillettechildrens.org/impact.

HOW TO REPORT SCORES IN DISTRICT 1

Results of District 1 League Games, and games that are part of an inter-District League schedule, need to be reported via e-mail within two days of the completion of the game. The e-mail should include the level of play, the teams involved, game date|time|location, game score, and whether each team received their Fair Play point (see "Computing Fair Play" under the Documents tab).

For inter-District games, the District 1 team will need to do the reporting. For other games, the winner of the game is responsible for reporting; in the case of a tie, the visiting team must report.

The e-mail address for reporting is  dist1scores@gmail.com

The top copy of the score sheet must also be mailed to the District Director:

Tom Mickus
700 Parkview Avenue
St. Paul, MN 55117

Score sheets may be mailed in batches, but no less frequently than every two weeks.

You can use any score sheet you have (D1, D2, D3).

"Catch Kids Doing Something Good" is what the Game Puck Program is all about. Make sure your coach has a supply of game pucks to reward kids when they have followed instructions or made a nice play in a game. Click below for more information on the program.

Roster Card Template

ROSTER CARD TEMPLATE (document attached below):

Description of Template Set-up:
• There are 6 cards set up on the template
• The card is set up with the "back side" as page 1, and "front side" as page 2.

Instructions for Filling In:
1. For each side of the card, fill in all the info for just one card
2. Copy and paste the info from that one card into the corresponding text fields for the remainder of the cards on the template

One manager suggested emailing the completed document to Kinkos and they can copy back to back on cardstock and laminated. All you need to do then is cut! Pretty slick!

Have you thanked your parents yet for the rides, the equipment, and their commitment to your hockey this year?
