2008-09 was a great year for Storm Hockey. Many players were recognized as excelling and participated in postseason events.
Erin Patton, Jack Elias, Jackson Sokolowski, and Ian Lockhart from the Squirt C Orange team participated in the Titan All-Star tournament.
Caroline Riester skated in the '96 Minnesota Elite Classic featuring the best girls players from around the state. Caroline and Isabel Gleekel skated in the U12 Preview Challenge Cup.
Keegan Iverson participated in the Selects Tournament for the top Peewee players in the state.
At the Bantam B1 level there is the Preview Challenge Cup for the top players in the state. Second year Bantam Storm players that participated were Steven Karl, Brandon Schmahl, and Ned Nelson and their team took second place in the tournament for 'second year bantams'. First year Bantam Storm Players Ben Gleekel, Joey Oesterle, and Jake Omodt won the tournament for 'first year bantams'.
Storm players that participated in the Minnesota Hockey Advanced 15 process and/or Stage 1 Festival were Nick Bither, Marshall Tema, Nick Gaitan-Gaitan, Tyler Broderson, Justin Brown, Ryan Nichols, Anders Jecha, and Newton Fuller. Anders Jecha has advanced to the Stage 2 Festival which is a week camp in St. Cloud for the top 102 1994 Birth Year players in the state. From that festival, the top 21 players will be selected to participate in a National Festival in Rochester, New York for the top 1994 players in the country.
